Summer newsletter 2017

The Reception children had a wonderful time at the Reception Sports Festival at EWS South. They were overall winners of the Penalty Shoot Out!
They have also acted as wonderful hosts at the Teddy Bears’ Picnic for the new starters.

Year 1

We’ve had a super term in Year 1. The children have enjoyed learning about holidays, especially bringing in their souvenirs and sharing their holiday experiences with other children in the class. They did a superb job in their class assembly, working hard to learn their lines and delivering them with enthusiasm. We had wonderful time in Everdon for our school trip, where children built dens for animals and tried out pond dipping (collectively we caught three fish!).

Year 2

Year 2 also enjoyed the super trip to Everdon and only one of them fell in the stream! They took part in a wonderful strings assembly and showed everyone how well they could play. The children that took part in the Key Stage 1 Sports Festival at EWS North did us proud as they won several events and were the overall winners of the group.

Year 3/4

Everyone in KS2 enjoyed the trip to the Space Centre in Leicester and the subsequent class assembly was great and very informative. They had a wonderful time building dens as part of their topic this term and enjoyed a ‘cake break’ inside them.

Year 5/6

This year some of the children have been Sports Ambassadors and they have done a wonderful job at several events in the cluster. They, too, enjoyed the Space Centre – particularly dressing up!

The leavers’ production was again on a very hot night but as ever the singing and acting was great. The audience laughed at all the right moments too.
We are always sorry to say goodbye to our leavers but we thoroughly enjoyed their final assembly and look forward to hearing about their achievements in the future.
