Homework is set regularly each week by the class teacher. Arrangements regarding the days it will be given out and collected in are provided for parents in a letter at the beginning of the school year. At Key Stage 2 projects are set linked to the current topic. These projects can take many forms and are spread over several weeks. These projects encourage parents to become involved with their child’s learning. More information may be seen via our FROG learning platform link on the right.
Maths targets are given out every term so that parents have a clear idea of what their child should be achieving by the end of the year.
All children are expected to read daily, preferably with an adult, and this should be recorded in the Home/School Log for Key Stage 1 and the Reading Log for Key Stage 2.
Spellings and mental arithmetic tasks are given out regularly.
When children are absent due to illness they should be resting rather than doing school work. Reading books can be collected from the class teacher if parents ask.
