Being a Church school we have always followed Christian values in all that we do in school. This year we have decided that we will make these more prominent, not only through assembly themes, but in all our lessons and activities.
We have chosen six values to focus on this year – one per term. They are:
Term 1 Courage
Psalm 31, v24 Be strong and courageous all you who out your hope in the Lord.
Term 2 Humility
Ephesians 4.2 Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowances for each other’s faults because of your love.
Term 3 Perseverance
Hebrews 12.1 Let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
Term 4 Service
Matthew 24.26 If one of you wants to be great, they must be the servant of the rest . . . like the Son of Man who did not come to be served but to serve.
Term 5 Responsibility
Galatians 6 4-5 Pay attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. For we are each responsible for our own conduct.
Term 6 Generosity
1 Timothy 6.18 Be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others.
Each week assemblies will link to the current theme, which we will also discuss in other lessons (not just RE or PHSE).
Each week, we will present a certificate to a pupil who has demonstrated that value particularly well.
