Being a Church school we have always followed Christian values in all that we do in school. This year we have decided that we will make these more prominent, not only through assembly themes, but in all our lessons and activities.
We have chosen six values to focus on this year – one per term. They are:
Term 1 Friendship
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. (1 Thess 5.11)
Term 2 Peace
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God. (Matthew 5.9)
Term 3 Forgiveness
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. (Ephesians 4.32)
Term 4 Thankfulness
Thank the Lord, for he is good. His love continues for ever. (Psalm 107.1)
Term 5 Wisdom
Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. (Matt 7.24)
Term 6 Hope
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15.13)
Each week assemblies will link to the current theme, which we will also discuss in other lessons (not just RE or PHSE).
Each week, we will present a certificate to a pupil who has demonstrated that value particularly well.
