Christmas Newsletter 2017

Reception and Year 1 worked with Year 5 and 6 to make biscuits. The older children made teddy biscuits which we all decorated later.  We decorated bags to put our biscuits in too.  The biscuits didn’t stay in the bags very long though!

Years 1 and 2
We’ve had a wonderful term in Year 1. The children have been learning about celebrations, which gave us many great opportunities for learning. They were particularly proud of their news reports, where they learned that factual information isn’t always presented in books. Then of course, there was our celebrations of friendship and the children used their skills in maths, literacy, PSHE and art to organise an incredible party for our friends in Year 2. Finally, we looked at Christmas, learning the story of the first Christmas and preparing for our performance, which, I think you’ll agree was fantastic!

Year 3 and 4
Year 3 and 4 have had a really busy term! We have been working hard on recognising our own feelings, especially when we feel anxious and worried. We shared times when we have been worried and came up with our own list of ways we can help ourselves in these situations. On Friday 8th December most of the class participated in the bikeability scheme. Despite the chilly weather, all the children thoroughly enjoyed the training and learnt some valuable skills for riding their bikes safely in public places.

Years 5 and 6
During the last few weeks Years 5 and 6 have enjoyed writing Christmas cards to a class of children in Poland and have received cards in return! The children will be staying in touch with their pen pals through e-mail and participating in projects with them in the New Year.
