Two long-serving governors at our school have recently stepped down. Mrs Angela Turner has given much time and helpful advice to the school, particularly in the area of special needs education. Mrs Lesley Wolstenholme, our outgoing chair, has provided invaluable specialist advice to the staff and governing body and has guided us through several inspections and audits. They will both be very much missed and we owe them a big debt of gratitude.
This means, of course, that there are two vacancies on the school governing body.
It is not necessary to be a parent of children at either our school or any other school in order to be co-opted onto the Governing Body. Particular skills like business management, IT or building maintenance are very helpful, but possibly more important is a desire for Yardley Gobion School to be the best it can be
